On the Oasys Blockchain, the Captain Tsubasa NFT Soccer Game Debuts

According to Hiroshi Kunimitsu, CEO of Mint Town, fans may now experience the tale in a new way by connecting with the Oasys blockchain.

On the Oasys blockchain, a Web3 gaming platform, the Japanese manga and anime series Captain Tsubasa has released its nonfungible token (NFT) soccer game.

On May 20, Oaysis revealed that it will be launching an NFT soccer game on its Web3 gaming blockchain. Captain Tsubasa is a well-known 80s manga and anime that was created and illustrated by Japanese artist Yōichi Takahashi.

The Web3 game was developed by Blocksmith and Mint Town, two Web3 development platforms. It was first teased in 2022 and released on January 12, 2023. On June 4, 2023, the project also published its governance token.

Players can gather NFTs of the anime series’ original cast members in this game. It enables players to build teams, customize their characters, and engage in a variety of game scenarios.

While a player-versus-player (PvP) mode pits players against other online players, the Rival mode lets players relive the original plot. The game also has an Arena mode that allows players to compete in 11 versus 11 soccer matches.

Integrating into the Oasys blockchain offers audiences “a new way” to experience the animated story, according to Hiroshi Kunimitsu, CEO of Mint Town. According to Kunimitsu, the publication shows how blockchain technology can be used to “enhance interactive entertainment and gaming.”

First published in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1981, the manga series was later converted into an anime series in 1983.

Numerous films and television shows were adapted from it after, the most recent of which debuted in 2018. The manga series became one of the best-selling manga series ever in 2023 after selling 90 million copies worldwide.

The game’s Genesis NFTs will have extra functionality, like raising players’ energy points, to celebrate its premiere on Oasys.

As cryptocurrency values start to rise again, GameFi studios start to reopen. The Guild of Guardians video game was made available on Google Play and the Apple App Store on May 15 by Web3 gaming studio Immutable.

The Web3 game Pixels achieved a milestone of one million daily active players and $4.4 million in token revenue on May 13. The game’s worth increased to $2.7 billion on February 22, following its migration to the Ronin blockchain.
